Ireland’s largest foodservice & hospitality event returns Following its biggest-ever attendance in 2019, CATEX - Ireland’s largest foodservice trade event - is returning to the RDS Simmonscourt, Dublin next March 2021, offering a unique opportunity where Ireland’s biggest players and membership organisations in foodservice and hospitality all come under one roof. With a 10% increase in visitor numbers from the previous event, CATEX 2019 served up 12,500 visitors to a 250-strong exhibitor base, with the show delivering sales, new contacts and sector insight; in addition to crowning the best in class chefs, baristas and bartenders. The ‘IFSAs’ will be joined by CATEX’s long history in celebrating skills. With over 250 student and professional chefs expected to take part in Chef Ireland; the National Barista Championships, the Irish Cocktail Championships and Chef Network will sit alongside the culinary competitions, providing demonstrations in best practise, thought leadership and bringing insightful discussion to the table.
Created by IFSA (Irish Foodservice Suppliers Alliance) and managed by Eventhaus, CATEX 2021 is once again supported by many industry stalwarts, including xxx and xxx, who have already secured their space. “CATEX 2019 provided an incredible foundation for our 2021 show, with a 10% increase in visitor figures and 97% of visitors commenting that CATEX 2019 was worthwhile or very worthwhile attending,” comments Patrick Clement, Chairman of IFSA. With an average spend in the region of €9.5k – €12.5k*, 75% of visitors placed an order or intended to place an order as a result of their visit to CATEX 2019. Patrick Clement continues: “We are focused on building on this success and following the huge interest in the Irish Foodservice Supplier Awards at Food & Bev Live - and reflecting global trends on sustainability - we will be bringing the IFSAs to CATEX to recognise those suppliers and producers who are playing their part in creating a greener future. Commenting on how CATEX benefits exhibitors, Margaret Andreucetti, Sales Manager at Eventhaus adds: “Our exhibitors are the life-blood of CATEX, many of whom return show after show to ensure they benefit from an incredible event. Their on-going commitment underpins the return that CATEX delivers for exhibitors in terms of sales and new contacts. “With 97% of exhibitors rating CATEX as an important event for their company in 2019, we’re committed to ensuring that the 2021 event delivers for all. This is a show created by the industry, for the industry, and every year, we invest significantly in ensuring CATEX is relevant, delivering new business, ideas and solutions for our exhibitors and visitors alike.” Over the last 50 years CATEX has established itself as a major force in the hospitality and foodservice industries.
