-70% of floor space sold ahead of Ireland’s largest foodservice expo-
2017 sees the return of Ireland’s biggest foodservice event, CATEX, with a new look layout and a host of new exhibitors who are looking forward to availing of the many opportunities that the show serves up.
Attended by over 10,000 foodservice and hospitality industry professionals, the flagship event, organised by the Irish Foodservice Suppliers Alliance (IFSA), will again be staged at the RDS Simmonscourt, Dublin 4, from 21st to 23rd February.
CATEX celebrates Ireland’s dynamic foodservice industry, and in an increasingly competitive market, new companies have joined the bill, and will sit alongside the popular competitions and feature areas including the Contract Caterers’ Culinary Challenge and the Chef’s Choice Pavilion.
Home to over 200 exhibitors across the three-day event, new names include: Ali Group, Friulinox, Lainox, Plassey Tierney’s and Valeo Professional, to name just a few! New exhibitors will sit alongside long-term supporters of CATEX, including Bunzl, Bewleys Ltd, BD Foods, Calor Gas, Embassy of Poland, Henderson’s, Hugh Jordan, Lyreco/Nespresso, Marco Beverage Systems, Nisbets, and the Catering Innovation Agency (CIA) and many more. Commenting on securing it’s biggest-ever stand at CATEX, Andrew Lynas, Managing Director of Lynas Foodservice says: “CATEX has been instrumental in helping Lynas Foodservice to grow its customer base across Ireland. Since our first show in 2009, we’ve increased our stand space year on year, as we can clearly see the return on our investment, both at the show and in the months following CATEX.
“With our new branding and location at the event, we’re excited for CATEX 2017, and look forward to availing of the wealth of opportunities that the show delivers for our business.”
Committed to serving up a great event is IFSA Chairman and Industrial and Commercial Sales Executive with Calor Gas, Mr Larry Smith, adds: “CATEX has retained its place as the biggest, most comprehensive tradeshow for the foodservice sector – always building and evolving – and we’ll be excited to see the new look layout and exhibitor mix come to life at the February event.
“Sponsored by Bunzl and Calor, CATEX is on course to become a sell-out event with almost 70% of available floor space already sold, and with CATEX enjoying a record attendance in 2015, we’ve high hopes for the 2017 event.”
Chef’s Choice Area is returning, but on a larger scale, to CATEX 2017. Supported by IFSA, this area is both a popular and important feature for local producers to the foodservice industry and offers a platform for producers to meet with foodservice professionals such as Restaurateurs, Chefs and Contract Caterers.
Maureen Gahan, Foodservice Specialist, Bord Bia explains: “The Irish foodservice market is delivering real growth and value for Irish food and drink companies, as is evidenced in our recent industry report. The ‘out of home' market is now worth €6.37bn and this is forecast to grow to almost €6.9bn by 2018*, so this is an area we are encouraging companies to develop.
“CATEX has been instrumental as the melting pot for the sector for over 50 years and with foodservice on the rise, there are real opportunities for producers to adapt their offering to appeal to key players in this market”.
Once again, CATEX has retained its excellent industry relationships by continuing to partner with aligned industry associations including the Speciality Coffee Association of Europe (Irish chapter); Euro-Toques Ireland; Restaurants Association of Ireland; the Panel of Chefs, CMAI; Irish Hospitality Institute; Bartenders Association of Ireland; Licensed Vintners Association and the Vintners Federation of Ireland.
CATEX 2017 promises to connect exhibitors and visitors from across Ireland and beyond – it’s where business is done! Secure your exhibition stand now by contacting EventHaus on (00353) 1 846 0020 or see www.CATEXexhibition.com
